Istanbul

One of the destinations I always dreamed of reaching was Istanbul, the city of a hundred names. Crossroads between East and West Istanbul exerts an exceptional charm on the traveler, leaving something indelible in his soul. The city is a perfect example of multiculturalism, and, despite fundamentalist pressures and harsh terrorist attacks, the three major monotheistic religions coexist peacefully in it: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. In my way of being I face the journey not as a tourist but as a traveler, this leads me to explore especially the areas that are not indicated by the tourist brochures; this pushed me to those areas inhabited mainly by the citizens of Istanbul, to savor their smells, sounds and colors. The city immediately strikes for its enormity and diversity. Moving to the other bank, the eastern one, you arrive in the charming Uskudar district, full of clubs, people drinking and chatting and many beautiful dogs, eager to guide you along the alleys. Stop to taste the culinary specialties and chat with people, you will find everyone very helpful and ready to tell you funny and original anecdotes. When visiting Istanbul, observe due and normal prudence, but do not allow yourself to be conditioned by the terrorism nightmare, because this would be a great defeat for those who love travel and therefore also photography.
